I haven't posted a new recipe for a while, and I tried a new one yesterday that turned out great. It's called
RECIPE FOR A GOOD NIGHT'S SLEEP
and it goes like this:
1 beautiful day
6 family members (including three teenage boys)
1 family friend
3 motorcycles (dirt bikes)
6 float tubes
7 popsicles
1 package of Oreos
Combine all ingredients in a van-and-trailer combo for 40 minutes. Spread out over four miles of Platte river and sand bars for four hours. Sprinkle liberally with sand. Pierce with mosquitoes. Top with campfire-smoked hot dogs and s'mores. Let rest 40 minutes and roll gently into bed for another 8-12 hours.
You really should try it. I can recommend it.

Oh, goodness--has the non-teenage young man seen this?
That sounds like a good time!
Marti-- if by "non-teenage young man" you mean our "number 1 son," then yes, he was along. It was just easier to classify him under "teenage." And by the way, he had a great time. In fact, everyone enjoyed themselves in a way we haven't seen for quite a while, and Martin and I are encouraged by that.
Next time we go, and we hope to do this again yet this fall, would you like to come along?
I just know I'd get asked to put the five years back if I took them away.:) Mom could probably get away with it.
I would love to come, if I could get it to work out. Whether it would work or not would be hard to say. I'd need the 5-7 day advanced notice if I was in the same circumstance. Cabin fever has been among the challenges of late. Miraculous things happen when you dare to ask for them, though.
