There are things happening here at the house of Huebert, things that are, and will be, changing our life, but I can't tell you about them yet.
Now I've made you curious, I know. But telling you this much lets you know the following:
1) I haven't fallen off the face of the earth,
2) why I'm a little strung out
3) why I'm having a hard time finding something to write about. Something ELSE, besides what I can't tell you. *SIGH*
And now a random observation.
Grocery shopping has become exhausting and discouraging lately. Has anyone else noticed the sudden hike in food prices? It's horrible in our corner of the cornfield.
I can prove it to you. I can get two hundred dollars worth of groceries in the trunk of THIS:
And believe me, it's not because the trunk is so spacious! (Although I will admit the trunk holds an amazing amount for how small it is.)
Pretty soon, I think I'll have to fill the trunk with money first, in order to bring it home full of groceries....
That is, if I have any money left after filling the gas tank. (And not because the gas tank is so big!)

I went to support a friend with a shrinking prayer group this evening. Something that I brought up was the increasing need to fix our gaze on the unseen. I've reached that conclusion for my own drastically altered life, and this week had to pass this on to another friend who feels, of all things, artistically redundant to the point of no longer being financially able to continue in the way to which he has been accustomed to function.
As I look at the opportunities to share the kingdom of God that are rising out of the ashes at this point, I'm encouraged for all of us: Jesus said that a seed can't produce unless it falls into the ground and dies, so beyond the death of what has been seen is a multiplication of the inner life that was waiting to be freed.
Can I just say how happy I am?
It is hardly fair to leave your readers in such an emotional state by telling them you have a secret and then not sharing it. I shall pout now.
Ok, I'm back. Shall we guess?
As for the gas and groceries, I loved prayermom's answer. So true that we need to fix our eyes on THE ONE who is our true provider. It is so tempting to look at our present circumstances and give in to worry or doubt. But either the promises of God are true, or they are not. Either Jesus qualified us for them or not.
I believe they are true, and I believe we are eminently qualified to receive them, but we must focus on the promises and not our circumstances. When we look at the things we see instead of agreeing with the truth, we are led astray.
I am glad you are back, and I am waiting with baited breath for your unveiling. (of your announcement, I mean)

I know what you mean about the cost of food and gas -- and everything -- these days. It's just incredible. We are praying too. It seems everybody is affected, regardless of usual standard of living.
