"When you feel in your gut what you are and then dynamically pursue it-- don't back down and don't give up-- then you're going to mystify a lot of folks." Bob Dylan
I ran into this statement somewhere a while back. I think it must be true. People don't always understand other people, and can't always comprehend someone else's values, priorities, and passions.
But that's okay. The Bible itself tells us that we are all different, like the parts of a body. In fact, the body is capable and strong because of the diversity of its parts, and it is unhealthy (as well as unthinkable) to have one part of the body reject another part for being different.
I think I can just GO FOR IT, and be what I was created to be.
And as soon as I figure out what it is, I'm going to.

I think we should start a club--the over forty moms looking for their niche! It is true that we aren't all alike, and I love the diversity. It is sad that many associate "different" with "sinful", when it is really just "different!" When we begin to climb out of the box we've allowed others to put us in, it is startling to all, both those who put us there and we ourselves. Best wishes looking for that elusive goal! I'm cheering for ya!

I've found several of my different niches, and most of them marginalize me. I think in the long run that the authenticity and genuine success makes the loneliness worth it.
That's a great quote by Dylan. The "different" and "sinful" differentiation has been what I've used to explain several items from the music niche (and the musicians that created them)....well, to explain all of those niches, really. The sin comes in when you come to resent the furrowed brows; it's better to learn to love the quiet of your island.
